Leading French mobile gaming sites in merger to create definitive source of mobile games information

London, UK and Paris, France – 10th August 2010 – Steel Media, publisher of the Pocket Gamer websites, is delighted to announce that its leading French publication PocketGamer.fr is set to continue its expansion following a merger with fellow market-leader, JmobiL.
The agreement will see both sites’ content and traffic combined and relaunched under the PocketGamer.fr banner in August 2010. In addition to the obvious increase in traffic which should make the relaunched site an undisputed market leader, the move will also see an increase in resources as PocketGamer.fr editor Nicolas Gavet and his writers link up with the JmobiL team to ensure an upswing in dedicated content for the iPhone and smartphone formats, as well as providing coverage of the handheld console space.
JmobiL founder and editor, Julien Roy, will take control of the new site and also manage the rest of Pocket Gamer’s French operations, including syndicated editorial reviews to third parties such as Mobiles Magazine and IG Magazine, as well as the successful PocketGamer.fr iPhone app (over 50,000 users and growing).
The move will also see a renewed push to extend these and other activities and expertise from Steel Media into the French market, including content magazines, B2B consulting and reports, events and contract publishing.
