Steel Media publication crowned Technology and Gadget Magazine of the Year
PRESS RELEASE | For Immediate Release
Bath, UK – 28th November 2013 – A thrilled Steel Media today announces that Swipe Magazine, its interactive digital publication aimed squarely at users of Apple’s iOS devices, has been recognised as Technology and Gadget Magazine of the Year at the Digital Magazine Awards 2013.
The DMAs, which took place on 26th November in London, is a yearly event that recognises and celebrates the very best of the digital magazine sector.
Swipe Magazine went up against Mac Life, Maximum PC, WIRED, and many other publications in its chosen category, and was announced the victor at the gala event.
“Swipe is put together by a very compact but dedicated team and we’re delighted to see that effort recognised and rewarded by the DMA judges – particularly against some very accomplished competition” said Joao Diniz Sanches, Steel Media Digital Division’s Editorial Director. “Aside from the magazine’s great interactivity so loved by our readers, Swipe wouldn’t be what it is without its content and for that reason I must also congratulate the Pocket Gamer crew for their editorial excellence, providing the foundation on which Swipe is built”.
The bi-monthly magazine, which focuses solely on the finest recent content to have hit the App Store and was previously a DMA 2012 finalist, has undergone a comprehensive redesign since last year’s awards.
In addition to fun features, developer interviews, game guides, and app recommendations, each publication showcases the latest and greatest games as rated by Pocket Gamer, one of the world’s leading independent mobile gaming sites, and backed by the Quality Index rating – providing readers with an opinion they can trust.
Swipe is built from the ground up as a fully interactive experience for iPad owners and forms part of Steel Media’s Digital Division, which also publishes a growing line of Pocket Gamer Guides.
Swipe Magazine is free and available now on iPad from the App Store here.
